EIT Digital's Venture Incubation program, formerly known as the Venture Program, returns to support new and innovative projects in the area of digital technology, helping them move from the prototype to investment phase in less than a year. The program offers mentoring, training and monetary prizes of up to 30 thousand euros.
Aimed at the Baltic countries, eastern and southern Europe, the EIT Digital Venture Incubation aims to support entrepreneurial teams, in the initial phase of development, to accelerate their entry into the market. It is not necessary for startups to be incorporated, all that is needed is a team of at least two individuals with an innovative business idea and a prototype in the areas of Digital Industry, Digital Technology, Digital Wellbeing, Digital Finance or Digital Cities. The application deadline is open until April 28th.
Venture Incubation is divided into three phases, each with different activities and prizes. The selected teams will initially receive 5 thousand euros upon completing the first internship, consisting of two bootcamps and specialized mentoring. Another 10 thousand euros will be awarded to teams that complete the first phase, present a strong Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and incorporate their company within the established deadline.
In Portugal, BGI Sustainable Ventures will be responsible for promoting the program. Over the five editions in Portugal, 34 projects were supported, of which 20 were successfully incorporated and remain active. Examples include startups like FootAR, Full Venue, Volvero and Parqist.
