Startup Portugal and Lisboa Unicorn Capital marks Portugal's presence in the first edition of Web Summit Qatar, which took place in February 26th to 29th in Doha. With a diverse group of 13 Portuguese startups, this delegation reinforces the country's commitment to innovation and global entrepreneurship.
The Portuguese delegation, led by Startup Portugal, presents eight startups that address strategic areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Fintech, Tourism, Sports and Human Resources. Under the Business Abroad program, these companies seek to explore new markets, especially in the Middle East, with the aim of expanding their operations and strengthening their international presence. The companies included in this initiative are:
- BRAINR – an intuitive next-generation Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for the food industry that enables smarter processes and integrated production operations in real time;
- Bamble – a startup that establishes contact with talent from the technology sector in high-growth markets, such as Africa, LATAM and the European Union;
- X-Plora – a gaming and NFTs system to improve the customer experience;
- Team Sportz – a sports AI platform, aiming to help coaches and players reach their maximum potential;
- BHOUT – gaming company that created the first smart boxing bag, with 3D computer vision, AI and automated learning;
- Finvex – a startup that helps medium and large companies create and manage their own supply chain finance operations;
- Sabbatical – online platform for booking monthly stays;
- Xpat, Inc. – digital platform that improves the advancement and social mobility of underrepresented communities by connecting and empowering nomads and students.
Lisboa Unicorn Capital also presented five innovative startups with great potential for growth and impact in the sectors represented:
- Enline – technology to optimize the monitoring of energy transmission assets, improving energy efficiency and reducing losses and emissions;
- The Carbon Games – solution that promotes sustainability using gamified carpooling solution and blockchain-based carbon trading;
- Muro.art – streaming platform that transforms your space with personalized digital art that improves mood, supported by neuroscience;
- Supadupa – a space for the creative economy that provides brands and agencies with the data points to choose the best influencer and audience for their brand;
- Uptiq – platform that helps startup accelerators provide unique and selected experiences to each startup, through a collaboration platform.
Altogether, these startups have already raised more than 17 million euros in investments and operate in more than 14 countries, demonstrating a solid track record of growth and innovation.
